Megalithic Forms

Across Dartmoor there are a number of Megalithic sites.  Stones in the form of menhirs, rows and circles stand as silent sentinels, defying the passage of time. Their origins and purpose remain shrouded in a veil of speculation and wonder.

This collection seeks to show that wonder, but not the speculation.  These structures would have held enormous  significance at the time, but are now reduced to being described by their simple forms.

Were they covered or adorned with other materials?  Did they have colour?  We are free to speculate, but without evidence are restricted to a limited vocabulary when defining them.
